July was an exciting month here at Standby Productions, and significant positive changes have been afoot to cope with rising demand for our premium film service.

We have expanded our office in Urban Splash’s newest development, Beehive Mill, and have also recruited two sparkling new additions to the team; filmmaker, Chris Kenward and producer, Ellen Bounds, both graduates from Sheffield Hallam University.

After completing his degree in 2015, Chris went on to make regular travel films in locations such as New York, Rome, Scotland and Norway, as well as an invitation to work with Oscar nominated, Anthony Wonke on the stunning commercial for Expedia; David’s Story. Chris joined Standby to deliver our new monthly social media video content package, Standby Social.

“I’ve already learned so much in the short amount of time I’ve been here and I can’t wait to apply that knowledge to more and more ambitious projects!” – Chris Kenward, Filmmaker

Ellen also left Sheffield Hallam in 2015, taking with her a 1st class degree in Film and Media Production. This in turn, opened the career door to the role of production assistant at Groundbreak Productions, seeing her work her way up to production coordinator. Ellen will be overseeing the pre-production and organisation of Standby’s productions going forward, acting as the main point of contact throughout the filmmaking process.

“Having always admired Standby Productions and the content they produce, I am extremely excited to come on-board and become part of such a talented team!” – Ellen Bounds, Producer

Working together with both our new recruits and new offerings; STANDBY Social, Corporate, and Commercial, we are taking the company from strength to strength and look forward to what the future brings. And so far so good…

“We’ve seen fantastic growth this year, with record-breaking financial results. We put this down to our creativity, attention to detail and growing demand for visual content. Our aim has been to make high-quality video more accessible, by adopting a flexible approach to packaging services. This has enabled us to work on a wide variety projects, from household brands to up and coming businesses.

With some big new client wins this year, I’m really pleased to bring in the right talent and Chris and Ellen fit that bill perfectly.

They join us at a very exciting time and they’ve already made a really positive impact in the office and with our clients. Sheffield Hallam has delivered greatness to STANDBY!“. – Simon Owen, Managing Director
