At 11.00am on the 11th of April 2011, two hours into STANDBY’S first day in business,  STANDBY founder and managing director, Simon Owen, received a phone call from the BBC offering him a job. It was at this point Simon made the decision to turn down the BBC and STANDBY began it’s journey.

That’s right you heard us – we’re six and we think that’s freaking awesome! This is a huge milestone for STANDBY and it’s been made even sweeter having just completed our most successful year to date (record breakers!). Yes, we will celebrate accordingly (and in style) and once we’ve recovered and the hangovers have passed we have a very bright future to look forward to. We’ve come a long way over the past 6 years, from Simon’s spare bedroom to our stunning studio in the thriving, creative hub of Ancoats, Manchester… not to mention working on bigger, more creative and more challenging productions too.

Managing Director Simon Owen said “F>CK YEAH! I think any business owner who survives and thrives another year has an overwhelming sense of relief and pride all rolled into one – hence my opening, rather bold, statement. The pleasure for me has been to be part of our masterful crew and to see STANDBY evolve, grow and achieve greatness – and there’s plenty more where that came from.”

With 2016 being tipped as the ‘Year of Video Marketing’ we’re perfectly placed (with our 6 years of expertise) to deliver a premium, consistent service to all our clients. Creativity remains at the heart of everything we do. Our films are constantly pushing innovative and creative boundaries.

It’s been an amazing 6 years and the future looks even more exciting, stay tuned to follow our journey.
