“Creativity is at the heart of everything we do and if there’s one thing we love, it’s making films.”
Coming up with a creative concept is one of the hardest and most rewarding aspects of the film making process.
It takes a lot of time and perseverance to make the break through from an “ok idea” to a truly great one.
Below are some of the key stages that go towards a creative concept –
>BRIEFING
Before we start to think of ideas we first get briefed. Each project will be headed by a member of the team and seen through from initial brief to completion.
In the briefing session we’ll be told about the brand, the client, the product and any initial ideas.
>INITIAL IDEAS
No matter what the budget we strive to make every film incredible.
The team come together and throw around ideas, ingest unhealthy amounts of caffeine and look for inspiration.
>INSPIRATION
We’re always on the lookout for things that inspire us. This is where our love for film making really pays off!
We’ll pull in inspiration from multiple sources – Movies, Games, Design Blogs etc. These all help form a unique identity for your film.
>SECONDARY IDEAS
Some ideas never make it past the first few sentences, others are pulled apart and studied, but all ideas are initially taken on board.
This flurry of creative thinking helps generate the core idea and we build up from there.
>ANSWERING BRIEF
Whatever the idea, we always go back to the brief to ensure it ticks all the boxes and fulfills the clients wishes.
We outline key points that need to be addressed and take the information given to us by the client and add it into the mix.
>THE “YES!” MOMENT
There always comes a point where we can all finally agree that the idea is there.
You can usually tell when an idea has reached the “great” stage – you go home and you can’t stop thinking about it.
At STANDBY we always strive to come up with a unique and creative solution to your brief.
We push ideas and develop concepts until we think they’re perfect for your brand.
