On the 22nd of May this year, STANDBY’S producer Chloe is running the Great Manchester Run in aid of Beechwood Cancer Care. The 10k course starts at the junction between Portland and Oxford ST, travels all though the city, past Old Trafford and Salford Quays and finishes on Deansgate. Chloe is hoping to complete the race in under an hour.
Having worked with Beechwood on a couple of projects now, Chloe was keen to get involved when fundraising manager Angela Gray mentioned the event that happens annually in Manchester. Beechwood Cancer Care offer support to people and families with cancer and other life limiting illnesses.
Here at STANDBY we’re always really keen to continue supporting Beechwood Cancer Care as a local charity who are reliant on donations to keep the centre up and running. Their work is invaluable to families who have found themselves in very tragic circumstances, however with the help of Beechwood those circumstances are becoming slightly more manageable.
Here’s what Chloe had to say;
“I’m really excited for the run in May, i’ve never taken part in anything of this distance before so training is currently well underway. Having worked closely with Beechwood and speaking to families who have relied upon their support and services I know just how important their work is, i’d love to raise £200.00 by running the 10k”.
