Yesterday evening the STANDBY team took a trip to Twenty Twenty Two in Manchester’s Northern Quarter to attend the first Motion North event of the year. Motion North is a bi-monthy meeting of creatives from designers and animators to filmmakers and VFX Artists who come together to celebrate a shared love of making things move.
Each get together allows creatives to share examples of their work whilst also enjoying the opportunity to listen to a featured guest speak about their industry experiences. Last night was STANDBY’S second Motion North event (although the event itself has been running for a number of years).
The guest of the evening was Ingi Erlingsson of Shoreditch based Animation company, ‘Golden Wolf’. ‘Golden Wolf’ were formed as the sister company of ‘I Love Dust’. We really enjoyed listening to their story, the trials and tribulations of launching a company and how they were able find their ‘image’. It’s always really interesting to hear from other like minded companies and see how they are doing.
We’re hoping to attend many more of the Motion North events over the next year and get to know even more of the creatives on our doorstep.
