Early last week the Standby Productions team temporarily vacated our School Lane premises and went ‘on tour’ to make a film for a top secret client.

An early start on Monday morning saw the team pack up the cameras and equipment and make our way to the stunning city of Vienna. We managed to get away with shooting a little time-lapse with our new GoPro camera on the flight. Using the suction mount we stuck it to the window of the plane and left it snapping away as we flew from Manchester to Zurich, where we had to change in order to get to Vienna. Matt, our London based Director got there direct, in far less time too, so he got the better deal in terms of travel time! We had read that flight attendants can be a bit funny about attaching a camera to the window of the plane, but the guy on Swiss Air was more than happy and was more intrigued than anything else.

We always love shooting on location. Every place or location has so many different elements we can work with to be creative and gain a great result. Vienna certainly gained a grade ‘A’ for being an inspiring place to create dramatic shots full of character. The client was also really open to our creativity and the results really spoke for themselves.

After filming for the majority of a day we were able to use our mobile editing suite to produce the film there and then. By carrying out the whole process on site we were able to quickly turn around a creative film for the client who was delighted with the results. The team were then able to sample a selection of the local beverages, well all work and no play…!

We normally love to share the work we’ve done but on this occasion we’re keeping our cameras close to our chest and the sound levels on mute.

Thank You Vienna , and Goodnight!
