At STANDBY, we often find ourselves working and collaborating with gifted artists from all different skill sets and industries. As part of an ongoing project outside of the office, Film Director Ashley has been speaking to people from a number of different crafts. These include actors, writers and musicians, amongst others, and the project is called The Artist Series.
Ashley had the following to say about the project:
“I’d been looking into documenting the experiences of people we’d collaborated with for a while. I think anyone in any industry has a very unique story and perspective to share, and I liked the idea of a series of films that looked at industries from more of a “grassroots” level, taking in the everyday struggles that these artists might face.
The idea is for each film to be only 90 seconds long, giving you a succinct insight into each person, their craft, passion and the industry from their own personal perspective. I’ve completed three now and have a number more lined up as well – the best thing about the project is the sense of supporting the local arts, which I think everyone has a responsibility to do if they can.”
