There’s an old quote that you should always “do what you love and love what you do”. That’s definitely the case at STANDBY – we can’t get enough of making films and this is something that extends out of the office and into our own personal time. The cameras never stop rolling around here!
At the moment our crew have a number of projects ongoing outside of the studio, and the one closest to release is Simon and Ashley’s short drama, ‘BRAKE’, which has been in development for well over a year. This film was created in conjunction with our good friend, Matt Kyle from MK Films and follows Matt’s character throughout a series of evenings, as we hear a story play out through several voicemail messages. The film recently made its debut in London and is being prepped for a number of Manchester screenings and short film festivals over the summer.
The other film currently in production is Ashley’s ‘The Boy From Woorsdend’, a short film following a young boy who lives in a small, bleak coastal village. The film has been shot across multiple locations in North Wales and is approaching it’s final shoot in Manchester, with the plan being to enter it into a number of competitions on completion.
There are a number of other projects still going on outside of the office, with all of our crew planning and plotting out new film content. This kind of work ensures that we keep creativity at heart of everything we do, as we try out new techniques and ideas, perfecting them for use with our clients.
