Wow! We certainly haven’t been ‘on STANDBY’ since we kicked things off in 2014!
Over 6000 miles covered since January traveling all over the UK from Newcastle to Cambridge, Leeds to London and a trip to the Austrian Alps to name a few.
Not only have we done a lot of traveling, we’ve been working on loads of new and exciting projects, with some pretty well known brands; such as Apple, PZ Cusson’s and Land Rover, as well as covering the UK Champions League and filming Rugby League champions, Wigan Warriors. Not only that, but just last week we interviewed and shot an Oscar winner with an OBE! Our first shoot 4K resolution (ultra HD)!!
Our latest TV Commercial was featured on the BBC News and was broadcast on ITV North throughout March, with incredible results for the client, more than doubling their anticipated incoming enquiry target!
In total we’ve worked on over 40 film projects this year to date and although we’re working extremely hard, we’re loving it! We’ve got some seriously awesome footage to show to the world when the time is right and cannot wait to update our showreel and portfolio.
We’ve moved office to a studio in Manchester and expanded our talented crew, with the addition of Chloe our new Producer (increasing our production capacity).
If you, like our other happy clients, would like to talk film production don’t hesitate to get in touch: firstname.lastname@example.org we’re always happy to work on new productions, from the first seed of an idea to the final cracking film delivery!
2014 marks the fifteenth anniversary of Manchester’s premier skate store, NOTE Shop. As the anniversary celebrations continue it seemed entirely fitting for STANDBY to reminisce about a film created by director Simon Owen back in 2001.
‘This Way Up’ was a three year project and could be considered the very roots of STANDBY PRODUCTIONS all those thirteen years ago! (although ‘officially’ we’re only three years old) [...]
Back in October, we found ourselves exploring the stunning Brecon Beacons in South Wales. We landed this shoot through Jalbert Productions (www.jalbertfilm.com), who commission us on the UK Tough Mudder events. The shoot revolved around British photographer, journalist and explorer Levison Wood, who’s latest expedition is both awe-inspiring and crazy!
Three questions to ask yourself when considering film for your company The majority of people would rather watch a film than read a lot of boring text. However, many businesses’ see film as an unnecessary expense that they could manage without, even though film is now a seriously powerful asset. [...]
Holy soaking wet cameramen, Batman!
On a recent shoot, we found ourselves trekking through the stunning Brecon Beacons in South Wales. One of the locations we found ourselves shooting at was incredible for many reasons – not only did the jaw-dropping Henrhyd Falls happen to be South Wales’s tallest waterfall, it also doubled as the entrance to the Bat Cave in the 2012 blockbuster, ‘The Dark Knight Rises’. [...]
Tough Mudder is notorious for pushing people to the very edge, both physically and mentally. Welcomingly dubbed as “probably the toughest event on the planet,” the event is a hardcore 12 mile obstacle course, designed by the Special Forces to test “all around strength, stamina, mental grit and camaraderie.” [...]
Vimeo is an anagram of the word ‘movie’ – which is very apt for a website which is an invaluable and essential tool for the filmmaking community. Founded back in 2004, the website has quickly grown to be the premiere independent film streaming site, priding itself on building and maintaining a community in which artists and independent filmmakers can come together and showcase their work to their peers.
