Channel 4 Hunters, award ceremonies and business coaches – it’s been yet another amazing week for Standby Productions!

Week 16 Shoots

This week, our Creative Director Jack has been working on another epic film for our Standby Ambassador Jordan Wylie (who also features on Channel 4’s show Hunted). Jack has been working hard on finding a new and interesting way to highlight the amazing and inspirational work that Jordan Wylie has been up to in aid of a number of charities, including war child. We can’t wait to see what this project leads to down the river.

Ash, our wonderful DOP completed the online edit for our client, Omya. The health and safety film is all about the importance of health and safety in the workplace, and features an emotional story about a man called Gary who had a nasty accident at work. Ash has done an amazing job at bringing Gary’s story to life, and it’s truly one of the best health and safety films we’ve seen out there! Stay tuned to see it go live over the next few weeks.

Everything Else

On Thursday evening, Rich (New Business) and our Managing Director, Simon attended the MPA inspiration awards along with other industry professionals. We are pleased to announce that our film for Anchor North was shortlisted for the ‘Best in Media Campaign’ which aimed to tackle loneliness in older age!

The campaign was a huge success, highlighted by a 64% year-on-year increase in traffic to the website!

Judged by a panel of experts from the BBC, Facebook and Spotify, finalists are judged from all different agencies across Manchester. The MPA Awards are an annual event for anyone who works in the creative, media, publishing or digital industries of Manchester! From the great to the newcomers, the MPA awards are a great opportunity to connect with like-minded people from the creative industry here in Manchester and all for a great cause! Each year, the money raised from the awards goes towards raising funds for the National Agency Benevolent Society (NABS) which helps those in need from the creative industries.

On Thursday the Standby team were very lucky to attend a business leadership course, brought to Standby by Business Growth Hub and Ruby Star Associates and led by Allan Vincent. Thursday’s session, which will be one of four sessions that Standby will attend over the next 12 months, focussed on Action Learning and how to increase productivity in meetings. Action Learning is a technique used to increase accountability, improve efficiency and reduce time in meetings. The whole team found the morning extremely useful and above all else – there were lots of snacks.

On another note, Hotter Autumn/Winter is still getting great reviews online, and all the team at Hotter are thrilled with yet another great Standby & Hotter collaboration. Here’s a quote from Hotter’s Chief Commercial Officer, Victoria Betts.

“Hotter and Standby have enjoyed a fabulous relationship for the last 2 years. They’ve helped create some really powerful and iconic films for us.”

Tune in next week to see what else the Standby crew get up to!
