Fine Chocolate Gifts | Friars

Overview

Friar’s approached us to create 2x promotional films for their two chocolate companies; Friar’s and their vegan range, Kakoa. The films were produced for their paid social campaigns and also for use on Amazon shopping channels.

We planned carefully in order to be able to shoot both products in one day at a studio. We not only wanted to showcase the beautiful chocolates, but as always wanted to include a series of creative shots within each advert too. We’d decided at the pitch stage that the Friar’s brand would work really well against a white backdrop and that Kakoa would work really well against a black backdrop, which gave a differentiation between the two brands nicely too.

We also enlisted the experience styling powers of Joanna Fahy, who helped to ensure every product looked totally and utterly edible!

The product shots were shot in a creative and stylish manner, using clever techniques to bring the ingredients to life. We used super slow motion and vice versa - this adds a high-end style to any food videography.

Each creative shot has been edited together to give a flow and a movement to each of the films, whereby we bring the products to life and give a sense of excitement throughout.

Our green stamp made its mark during this shoot in our continued fight against climate change, where LED lights were used on set and banned single use plastic bottles or coffee cups.

This shoot went really well and the client was super happy with the results, so much so that they subsequently requested a series of alternative edits for social channels. Lastly, it’s worth noting, it wasn’t so bad filming whilst having plenty of chocolate to eat and keep us going on the day!
