The week 3 update is fashionably late, but it has been yet another busy week at Standby Productions! And, despite typically dreary Mancunian weather, it has not dampened the spirits among the Standby crew.

So here goes Take 3 of the Standby update!

Week 3 Shoots

On Thursday evening it was Chris’ turn in the director’s chair. Supported by our DOP Ash, he led the shoot for an upcoming TVC with our client Action Coach. To support the team we brought in some of our favourite colleagues, including Russell the Runner, Charlotte, a talented MUA, and Dionne the spark.

It was a long shoot, but we are excited to see the end film on your TV screens soon! We asked Chris to share his thoughts on how the shoot went –

“I really enjoyed tackling the Action Coach shoot – it was a logistically tricky project, due to the evolving set and multiple lighting set ups, but we came away with some incredible rushes.

It took a huge amount of pre-production and planning to bring Action Coach to life from a directorial point of view. We were presented with the logistical challenge of shooting a film that takes place over the duration of three separate times of the day. To make life easy, I broke down the storyboard into three lighting set ups and we structured the shoot around this.

Overall it was a great, jovial atmosphere on set. Despite wrapping at midnight, we came away feeling like we had an excellent project in the can”

Similarly, the Standby social team have been busy with shoots for clients this week. Mark, before he jetted off his travels to sunny Devon, completed a shoot for our social client Smartebusiness. Additionally, our other social filmmaker, Felix, completed a client shoot for Bury Grammar and Cheshire Oaks. Plus, if you follow our Instagram you will have seen him indulging in ice cream while on shoot!

Everything Else

To celebrate the end of another cracking week, Urban Splash treated us to an office lunch.  We ordered in some mighty burgers, which went down a treat among the crew!

We’re excited to see what is in store for next week!
